Chocolate Puffs:
These light and crispy quinoa puffs are covered in Organic, Fair Trade dark chocolate and can undeniably help fend against junk food cravings! With only 6g of sugar per serving, you will also find 140 calories, 8 grams of which come from fats, 3-4 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber. NUTRITION-WISE:
Still confused on what Quinoa actually is? Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah, like the brand’s namesake) is a South American superfood – an “ancient grain” (in reality, a seed) – that contains 9 amino acids, making it a complete protein. The quality of protein in quinoa is on par with that of meat and dairy, and no other seed or grain has that high quality of protein. It also contains a decent amount of fiber and doesn’t [generally] cause spikes in blood sugar like many grains do.
Proudly made in the U.S.A., I Heart Keenwah sources their quinoa from the most natural, sustainable source that they know – in Bolivia. They also prefer Bolivian quinoa for its superior quality. Bolivian quinoa, also known as royal quinoa or quinua real, is a larger seed versus conventional quinoa. Bolivian quinoa also has a strong nutritional profile and maintains a nutty, rich taste.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
If I had to choose one grain that I truly loved, it would be quinoa. Not only is it extremely versatile, it’s also delicious – and healthy! However, I must admit that it isn’t always the best tasting – depending on the brand and/or how it’s made or what it’s in. On the flip side though, the lines from I Heart Keenwah have all thoroughly impressed me, with their new savory Quinoa Puffs and Chocolate Puffs being no exception.
