*Thrive bars are made up of healthy, Organic ingredients, most of which are relatively easy to chew and are therefore good for both toddlers and adults alike. THE COMPANY:
GoMacro was founded in 2004 by mother and daughter team, Amelia Kirchoff and Jola Sonkin. When Amelia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, both women decided to take on the Macrobiotic Diet after research revealed that the whole grains, beans, fresh fruit and vegetable-based diet, along with the elimination of eggs, dairy, refined sugars, additives and processed foods, could help to heal Amelia and prevent further illness.
As Amelia got better, so did her appetite – and craving for sweets. When her daughter, Jola, tasted them she couldn’t believe how delicious they were and decided to call them MacroTreats. This was the beginning of GoMacro.

From there, the barn was renovated to accommodate a small commercial kitchen where the MacroBar was soon born. As the popularity of the MacroBar grew, so did the kitchen. Today, GoMacro is housed in a facility in nearby Viola, and the farm is used for research and development.
