THE COMPANY:

THE PRODUCTS:
Charlie’s Soap is a blend of natural-based surfactants (detergents) derived from coconut and mineral oils, salts and water (Laundry Liquid) or pure washing soda (Laundry Powder). As opposed to detergents, real soaps are made from heating a variety of oils treated with caustic soda (lye) or pot ash. Furthermore, real soaps do not bind to water very well, which is why they have a tendency to leave a residue.
Made from various biodegradable ingredients and natural mineral ingredients Charlie’s Soap’s not only surpass the thresholds for “ultimate biodegradation”, they have also been approved by the USDA for use around food preparing surfaces and are non-toxic.
Many other “green” detergents use extra chemicals to augment their cleaning agents. These are things such as (but are not limited to): oleic acid, sodium hydroxide, boric acid, protease and amylase, glycerin, calcium chloride, sodium chloride, citric acid, methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone … you get the idea.
Charlie’s Soap contains and needs NONE of these chemicals, nor any chemicals like them. This includes: no baking soda, no zeolites, no fragrances, no bleach, no anti-foaming agents, no essential oils, no thickening agents, and no enzymes. FINAL THOUGHTS:
While being picky about the products that you put on your skin, face and hair have become the norm – wanting ones that are preservative and chemical-free – many people still don’t give any thought to what they wash their laundry with. This is crazy [to me] since your clothes actually spend more time in contact with your skin then your body wash and shampoos do – and will have far more contact with your little ones as well!
