Honey Stinger: Organic Waffles and Chews for Active Kids
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

For Moms, Moms-to-be & Kids 3+*
Finding healthy snacks for our kids is tough. Now find ones that they actually like and it can be even harder! Then add to that the fact that you will often end up eating them too (thanks to frantic dashes out the door and always being on-the-go) and you want them to taste good for your sake as well.

Well thanks to Honey Stinger and their ‘mini’ line of honey-infused energy products, fueling your kids, their workouts, or even your own daily routine, is easier, and more delicious than ever!

The Product: Honey Stinger’s child line of Organic Waffles and Chews are all-natural foods designed for ‘mini’ athletes, and great for anyone looking for a healthy snack. With honey being their primary sweetener and main source of carbohydrates, Honey Stinger provides pure natural energy that won’t give kids that dreaded ‘sugar high’ that many of us are all too familiar with. And it won’t give them that awful ‘crash’ either.

Based upon their ‘adult’ line of products, the child-sized Organic Waffles and Chews are quite literally the exact same foods, just cut down and packaged into kid-friendly portions.

For years, waffles have been sold throughout Europe and eaten by professional cyclists, so Honey Stinger decided to create its own take on the waffle. Honey Stinger Organic Waffles are the only product of their kind that’s certified organic and available in a single-serving wrapper. Their organic chews are also specifically designed for athletes, offering additional electrolytes for those hard-pressing moments.

With Kid’s Waffles available in honey and chocolate flavors, and Kid’s Chews available in sour citrus and mixed berry, your little tykes are sure to find a product that they love as much as you do.

Nutrition-Wise: Thanks to their USDA Certified Organic label, you can be assured that all of Honey Stinger’s ingredients are organic and non-GMO. Furthermore, the Chews are wheat and dairy-free, although the Waffles do contain wheat and soy, and may also contain trace amounts of dairy and egg.

With healthy carbohydrates thanks to the honey, and filled with ample amounts of vitamins and minerals to boot, Honey Stinger products are also packed with electrolytes to help your kids perform at their best.

Coming in at around 70 calories per serving, both the Waffles and Chews do contain a decent amount of sugars. However, Honey Stinger products’ use of honey means that these complex carbs** will actually help sustain energy levels since all complex carbohydrates need to be broken down into simple sugars to be used by your body.

*I recommend them for kids 3+ because of the amount of sugar. However, the Waffles can easily be eaten by children that are much younger – I just personally like to hold off on additional sugars as long as possible. Same thing goes for the Chews.

**Honey is comprised of glucose, fructose, maltose, trisaccharides, and sucrose. Your body can only utilize simple sugars for energy production and to keep you going, which is why honey is such a great form of carbs.

Where to Buy: Honey Stinger’s children products can conveniently be purchased via their Online Store, or you can use their Store Locator to find a retail location near you.

Synopsis: Finding kid-friendly snacks that are not only healthy, but that you can enjoy as well are often hard to come by. Especially ones that are not comprised of artificial flavorings, sweeteners and/or preservatives.

Thankfully, there are companies like Honey Stinger that provides a variety of products that are not only tasty, but are also good for you! Filled with sweet, raw honey, the energy provided by Honey Stinger is one that is long-lasting and sustaining.

While I’ve never been one for energy chews myself, these fruit snack-esque snacks are great for kids looking for a pre-sport snack. On the other hand, I will admit that Honey Stinger’s Organic Waffles are pretty addicting. Having never tried “workout waffles” I didn’t really know what to expect. Yet these delicate and slightly sweet wafers are not only delicious but definitely supply an ample amount of energy to help pick you up when the going gets tough! You can even play them off as a “cookie” for your kids, and they will never suspect that their lunchtime treat is actually good for them!
