Cybele’s Cookies: Allergen-Free and Delightfully Delicious
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FOR MOMS, MOMS-TO-BE & Kids 2* +

It’s amazing how many people these days have some sort of food allergy, intolerance, or simply choose not to eat those foods that are possible “triggers” (ie, wheat and dairy). Especially as a parent, we need to not only be careful about the foods we feed our kids and pack in their lunches, but the foods that their friends may eat when they are with our kids as well – because no one wants to feel responsible for making another child sick!

But where do you draw the line? You don’t want to make your children feel deprived, but you also don’t want to tempt them with foods that they shouldn’t be eating in the first place.

Well thankfully there our companies out there that feel the same way. With Cybele’s Cookies, you can be sure that your not only getting allergen-free treats, but that your whole family will enjoy them as well!

THE PRODUCT: Cybele Pascal is the creator behind Cybele’s Cookies. When her son was diagnosed with severe dairy and soy allergies in 2001, she was told to go on a strict avoidance diet (since she was breastfeeding him), and instructed to cut Dairy, Soy, Wheat, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree nuts, Fish and Shellfish from her diet.

Though a big challenge, Cybele realized that she would need to start making foods from scratch because foods like this just weren’t readily available. One of her families’ favorite creations were her cookies, and even those without allergens just couldn’t get enough. Thus, Cybele’s Cookies were born.

Available in 3 traditional flavors, including: Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and Chocolate Chunk Brownie, it’s now easier than ever to find a tasty and allergen-free cookie that your entire family is sure to love.

NUTRITION-WISE: Cybele’s Cookies are one of the few cookie brands on the market that make such allergy-friendly cookies.  Free of the top 8 most common allergens, which are known to be the cause of approximately 90% of all allergies, you won’t find any Dairy, Soy, Wheat, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree nuts, Fish or Shellfish (thank God! – haha), in Cybele’s Cookies.

Cybele’s Cookies are also Certified Gluten-free, Vegan and Kosher (which just reiterate many of the “allergen-free” labeling above).

Coming it at around 110-140 calories per two cookies, 40 or so coming from fat, you will also find around 8-11 grams of sugar, 1 gram of protein, and 1-3 grams of fiber.

*I’ll admit that I’m kind-of a stickler when it comes to feeding my kids cookies and other treats. My philosophy is: until they are introduced to these types of foods, they don’t know the difference. If you tell them fruit is “a treat”, then that is what they will think. If you give children other sugar-filled snacks and treats too young, that is what they will want.

With that said, Cybele’s Cookies really aren’t “bad”, nor do they contain a lot of sugar or other additives that I would typically want my child to avoid (especially in 1 small cookies). So, while I personally don’t want my kids eating cookies and other treats until they are introduced to them at school or in other “social settings”, if my 2-year old happened to eat one, I really wouldn’t be overly upset.

WHERE TO BUY: You can buy Cybele’s Cookies directly from their Online Store, on Amazon, or at numerous other online retailers.

FINAL THOUGHTS:  Having many food allergies myself, and personally aware of many of the others due to family and friends that have them, finding foods that are “safe” for everyone to eat is no small feat. Finding allergy-friendly foods that actually taste good, now that’s even bigger!

Welcome Cybele’s Cookies.

And while I wouldn’t consider these a “health food” by any means, or a food that one should mindlessly eat, Cybele’s Cookies are a great alternative to your typical dairy, wheat, and nut filled cookie. These really are a great choice for those with food allergies who would normally have to avoid such foods. And you don’t have to have allergens to eat these cookies – they are good for everyone!

Try Cybele’s Cookies for yourself and see how good allergy-friendly cookies can be!
