or MOMS & MOMS-TO-BE and TODDLERS 1 YEAR+
Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day, ever since I can remember. Whether it be a cold bowl of cereal, a satisfying smoothie, or a warm bowl of oatmeal, I could eat breakfast foods for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner – and literally have on multiple occasions.
However, I’ve never really caught on to the “cereal in a bar” philosophy, and much rather sit down and enjoy my breakfast then eat it while trying to run out the door. (A lot of this probably has to do with me being an early riser, but that’s beside the point.) For me, sitting down and enjoying the whole “process” of eating breakfast is what makes it the most pleasurable part – although I [obviously] love the food too!
So, needless to say, I was pretty skeptical when first trying Bobo’s Oat Bars. I imagined them to be like all of the other oat-based, granola-like bars out there: kind-of dry, kind-of crunchy, and pretty flavorless. However, I was surprisingly mistaken and am so glad that I gave them a shot!
THE PRODUCT: Bobo’s Oat Bars are literally like a chewy, gooey bowl of oatmeal, all wrapped up in a convenient bar. Developed out of a simple mother-daughter baking tradition, Bobo’s quickly became a sought-after snack bar, enjoyed by families, athletes and health minded people everywhere.
Baked from scratch using the finest organic ingredients, you will not find any additives or artificial sweeteners in these bars, just pure deliciousness. Wheat and dairy-free, these are the perfect grab-and-go option for kids and adults of all ages.
Available in ten satisfying flavors, including Maple Pecan, Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter & Jelly, Bobo’s Oat Bars also come in four Gluten Free options for those who need to avoid gluten products entirely.
NUTRITION-WISE: Bobo’s Oat Bars are made using the finest, organic ingredients and are completely free of additives and artificial sweeteners. They are also non-GMO Certified, Kosher, soy-free and wheat-free. However, since there is possible “contamination” of oats during the milling process, the wheat-free varieties cannot claim to be gluten-free. Fortunately, Bobo’s also makes 4 gluten-free flavors as well, for those who have an allergy.
Coming in at around 160-190 calories per serving (typical for a bowl of oatmeal), each wrapped package contains 2-servings worth – although they now come in “bite-sized packages as well). You will also find around 7-8 grams of fat, 3 grams of both fiber and protein, and around 10 grams of sugar, give or take depending on the flavor.
*With a soft and chewy texture, similar to a bowl of oatmeal, Bobo’s Oat Bars are a great grab-and-go alternative for kids and adults of all ages. Plus, the fact that they contain fiber, protein, and are relatively low in sugar, makes them a great nutritional choice as well. With that said, I wouldn’t give my little one a whole 2-serving package (or eat it all myself for that matter), because 20 grams of sugar is a lot to eat in one sitting. But break off a couple pieces for your toddler, or cut it in half for your child who is trying to run out the door, and Bobo’s Oat Bars really are a perfect on-the-go snack or breakfast alternative.
FINAL THOUGHTS: I’ll be the first to admit that I was a bit skeptical when first trying Bobo’s Oat Bars. How are these bars any different from the other 101 oat-based bars out there? I think I rather just have a bowl of oatmeal…
But after trying Bobo’s… let’s just say we can’t keep enough of them in this house!
Chewy, moist, and oh-so addicting, Bobo’s Oat Bars are a new Boscarini staple – whether it be as an on-the-go breakfast bar, a toddler’s snack, or a before-bedtime treat. With tons of delicious flavors to choose from, I can’t imagine getting over these bars any time soon!
