HOW TO USE:
Baby Elephant Ears work by simply placing the pillow behind your baby’s head and pulling the bottom of the Baby Elephant Ear lobes snugly under your baby’s chin. Baby Elephant Ears do not attach to the carseat or harness and is intended to be placed behind your baby’s head once he/she has been fastened securely and properly into the seat. Please refer to your manufacturer’s instructions and any applicable local/state laws, if need be. Many of the warnings against aftermarket products pertain to supports and accessories that attach to the carseat in some way and could potentially alter the fit of the harness/straps or interfere with how the seat functions. In fact, several carseat safety sources recommend using a rolled towel or small blanket as a head support for your baby. However, Baby Elephant Ears accomplishes this much more safely and stylishly!

Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. Alicia Overby, mother of four, truly loves being a Mom, but in 2005, when their second child, Finn, was an infant her heart ached for her tiny baby boy. Finn cried all the time and just couldn’t seem to get comfortable. They literally had to run the vacuum cleaner for hours on end because the noise was the only thing that seemed to calm him.
After seeking help from the medical community, as well as alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where Finn was successfully treated for a subluxation. The chiropractor explained that Finn’s discomfort was most likely the result of the strain Finn experienced during labor and this pain was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. The hope was that Finn would experience relief in his sore neck and his digestive tract would be aided by proper head, neck and back alignment.
The chiropractor then suggested the Overbys try using something to better support Finn’s head and neck when he was in a seated position (such as a car seat, stroller, or carrier). Unsatisfied that she couldn’t find anything on the market that perfectly fulfilled her needs, Alicia did what any good parent would do – she took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. This is when Baby Elephant Ears was born!
Over time Finn changed and adjusted to life outside of the womb with much help from his new support pillow. Alicia determined the experiment had been a success worthy of sharing with others and decided to begin expanding the company into what it is today!

As a new mom, there’s probably nothing worse than constantly hearing your baby cry and knowing that no matter what you do it’s just going to continue. A lot of this can be copped up to “colic”, or some kind of food sensitivity, but even then it’s hard to predict what’s really going on.
But did you know that a lot of infants have issues with their necks – either because of their positioning during labor, or even soon after the fact – and that these issues can not only lead to on-sight pain, but influence the digestive system as well?!
