FOR MOMS, MOMS-TO-BE & TODDLERS 18 MONTHS* +
Rushing through our busy lives, we rarely take the time to sit down and think about what it is we are eating. We often just grab and go. Even less do we think about all the people who aren’t as fortunate as ourselves and don’t have the option to eat whenever and wherever they choose.
That’s why 2 Degrees is such a great brand. Not only do they make healthy and delicious bars that are conveniently packaged to help nourish our busy lives, part of the profits for each bar also helps to feed another.
And as a Mom, feeding hungry children is closer to my heart than ever…
THE PRODUCT: 2 Degrees is a company that makes four great tasting and highly nutritious whole food bars that are vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. With flavors such as Chocolate Peanut and Apple Pecan, you will never guess that these decadent bars are full of such healthy ingredients.
Besides their commitment to making healthy and delicious bars for their consumers, 2 Degrees has also made it their mission to feed those who are less fortunate. Taking on the idea of “no child goes hungry”, 2 Degrees dedicates a meal to a hungry child for each bar that is sold. With over 1 million meals and counting, this company has truly proven that personal profits do not have to be the one motivating factor behind a successful company.
NUTRITION-WISE: Besides the fact that all of the 2 Degrees bars are vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO, they are also packed with three of the most nutritious heritage grains – millet, quinoa, and chia – making these bars a great source of all the essential amino acids, and a significant source of omega-3 fatty acids as well.
With each bar containing approximately 175 calories, 70 of which are from healthy fats, they are also low in sodium and sugars, and contain fiber and protein to boot.
2 Degrees has also made one of their flavors, Chocolate Banana, completely nut-free, so those with allergies can enjoy them as well. However, it must be stated that the facility still handles nuts, although they thoroughly clean all the equipment to avoid cross-contamination. With that being said, it is up to the consumer as to whether or not they want to “risk” exposure.
WHERE TO BUY: 2 Degrees can be purchased via their Online Store, or at numerous retail locations nationwide.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Knowing that 2 Degrees is so committed to providing meals for hungry children has really created a soft spot in my heart for this company. Especially as a Mom to a little one myself. It is so easy to take for granted the idea of “grabbing food on the go” that we often forget how fortunate we truly are.
With that being said, I must admit that I “fell in love” with this company before I knew about their mission to give back. Not only are their bars completely vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO (three qualities that I often look for in my snack bars), they are amazingly delicious. Their inclusion of heritage grains, mixed with ground-up nuts, seeds, cocoa, etc. is truly decadent and makes these bars taste much “less healthy” than they really are!
Great as a midday snack or to grab as you are running out the door, these bars are also great as an after dinner treat or a midnight snack if a craving arises. Plus, your kids will love them so stocking a couple in your “to-go” bag will do dual benefit for both you and your little one[s]!
Try 2 Degrees today and don’t only feed yourself but feed a hungry child as well!

*Nutritionally speaking, 2 Degrees products are great for people of any age. However, many of their snacks may be hard to chew for children who don’t yet have molars so I would suggest waiting until your child gets at least one full set in before you introduce these snacks to him/her. Plus, each serving contains around 11 grams of sugar so I would limit the amount that they eat as to avoid too much sugar in their early stages.
