THE PRODUCTS:
The Grandpa Soap Co., as part of the Kirk’s Natural Family of Brands, is one of the oldest continuously operating soap-makers in the U.S. They are the originators of Pine-Tar bath products, which were developed on the stovetop of grandpa Jess Hoffman in 1878. Grandpa’s products are time-tested to cleanse, deodorize and moisturize – and are made with effective, natural and sustainable ingredients like steam-activated charcoal, epsom salt, buttermilk and organic witch hazel. Their certifications include Leaping Bunny, Rainforest Alliance, Forest Stewardship Council and the National Celiac Association.
Haircare
Wanting to move their traditions forward, The Grandpa Soap Co. recently launched its new haircare line, featuring thoughtfully crafted shampoo and conditioner duos for all hair types. HEALTH-WISE:
Hardworking, pure and simple ingredients are the heart of Grandpa’s natural soap making traditions. For around 140 years, they have sourced the highest quality and most natural ingredients without compromising their value. All of their products are guaranteed to be free of phthalates, sulfates, EDTA, animal by-products, artificial fragrances and colorants.
THE COMPANY:
In the early 1870’s, Jess Hoffman made the very first bar of Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap from his own recipe on the family farm, located in Tippecanoe (now Tipp City), Ohio. During an era of innovation, this family recipe was proclaimed for its restorative and cleansing benefits. As Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap continued to earn praise and popularity, more specialty soaps were crafted for different purposes.
Now, over 135 years later, the family of brands has grown to include Kirk’s Natural, The Grandpa Soap Company, and the South of France Natural Body Care. With approximately 90 natural products ranging from bar soap, liquid soap, foaming hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and body wash – those at Grandpa’s are certain they are just getting started!
PRICE:
Grandpa’s Haircare products range in price from $8.49-$9.99 – although places like Thrive Market offer them for $6.99/each.
WHERE TO BUY:
You can purchase Grandpa’s products at numerous Online Stores, or to find the retail location nearest you, please visit their Store Locator.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Having always had extremely thick hair – and a whole heck of a lot of it, for that matter – finding an effective conditioner has really been a struggle throughout my life. Now add the fact that I now completely avoid products with phthalates, sulfates, artificial fragrances, colorants, etc. and the list dwindles down to practically none!
Thankfully I was recently introduced to the NEW haircare line by The Grandpa Soap Co., because they really have some great products. Not only do they check off all of the “no chemicals wanted” boxes, they are also very effective and smell fantastic! For days when my scalp seems a bit dry, or when my hair looks in need of some extra shine, their products do the trick. Even my kids love the various scents and love when I use it – on both them and myself J.
Looking for a healthier haircare option that is reasonably priced but can compare to those more expensive brands? Then check out The Grandpa Soap Co.’s new haircare line. Because it’s those small steps that make healthy living a lifestyle – so why not take one today?!
