Navita’s Naturals: Bringing the World’s Greatest Superfoods Straight to Your Pantry
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

For MOMS & MOMS-TO-BE and Toddlers 6 months+*

I admit that the word “superfood” has gotten to be an overplayed buzzword in the past couple years. In fact, many people are starting to put it right along there with “all-natural” – a basically meaningless word that companies use to exploit consumers.

However, when it comes to superfoods, there really is meaning behind the madness. Superfoods are called that for a reason. The easiest way for me to explain the word is this: a nutrient-dense whole-food that is abundant in antioxidants, protein, essential fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other key nutrients. These foods provide natural energy, stamina, and overall wellness, and have been used in ancient cultures around the world for centuries, both for nutritional and medicinal purposes.

But be aware, not all superfoods are created equal and many companies have and/or are willing to sacrifice quality in order to make an extra buck. Fortunately there are companies like Navitas Naturals who take pride in their line of Organic Superfoods, making sure they are as pure and simple as possible, because that’s what a true “superfood” is all about.

THE PRODUCT: Navitas Naturals was founded in 2003 to bring energizing superfoods to North America “in order to invigorate the modern ‘Western’ diet.”

They believe that nutrient-rich whole foods are at their best when they’re produced by organic agriculture and use minimal processing. This is why all of Navitas Naturals products are certified organic, and they use methods such as freeze-drying and low temperature processing to ensure maximum nutrition and flavor.

With products ranging from your tried-and-true Cashew Nuts and Pomegranate Powder, to newcomers like Lucuma and Maqui Powder, Navitas Naturals has gotten the whole superfood thing covered.

NUTRITION-WISE: One of the most important aspects of keeping a superfood, a “super-food” is that it is minimally processed and never exceeds a certain temperature. Navitas knows this and makes it a point to keep [almost] all of their products in their “raw” state: meaning they are low temperature processed under 115F degrees so they can retain as many nutrients as possible. [Exceptions include: Acai (flash pasteurized), Gelatinized Maca (heated over 115 degrees F), Coconut Palm Sugar (boiled), and Yacon Syrup (flash pasteurized)].

Besides being Certified Organic, all of Navitas Naturals products are also Non-GMO Project Verified. (They’ve met the rigorous standards of the Non-GMO Project, an independent non-profit reviewer that ensures products are made according to best practices for GMO avoidance.) They are also sulfite-free and gluten-free.

*Navitas Naturals superfoods are safe for children and adults of all ages. However, pregnant or lactating women should be cautious when consuming certain products (such as Maca). Moreover, young children should not consume too much of any one given product since their bodies are quite small and therefore, so should their serving sizes.

WHERE TO BUY: Navitas Naturals can be purchased directly through their website, or to find the retail location nearest you, please visit their Store Locator.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Having never even heard the term “superfood” until 5 years (or so) ago, it is amazing how it is now such a popular “buzz” word and is plastered on pretty much everything you could imagine. But even though it is overplayed doesn’t mean it’s any less meaningful. Just take cacao and gogi berries, for example. Both these foods not only taste amazing, but are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, etc., all for relatively low calories.

Not all superfoods taste the same though, and many would-be superfoods are actually over-processed, ruining the good-for-you properties that they are known for in the first place!

Thankfully, Navitas Naturals are different. A true super-food brand, not only do they take special care in harvesting and packaging their foods to keep them in their most natural and nutritious state, they taste superior to most superfoods that you have probably tasted out there as well!

Try any or all of Navitas Naturals today and see for yourself how amazingly delicious nutrient-dense foods can be.
