For MOMS & MOMS-TO-BE and Toddlers 12 MONTHS+
We all know that nuts are a great source of nutrition. Filled with healthy fats, fiber, protein, and other vitamins and minerals, there is no denying that nuts are a great snack. But did you know that there’s really not a ton of protein in a handful of nuts? In fact, you’d be eating quite a lot of calories in order to get a good amount of protein [from nuts] into your diet.
However, just ¼ cup of soy nuts can give you the same crunch and satisfaction that tree nuts can, but with a lot fewer calories and a lot more protein! And best of all, the ones from Love Your Health taste absolutely delicious!
THE PRODUCT: Love Your Health uses a proprietary dry roasting technique that converts the stone-like soybean into a crunchy, nutty, flavorful high protein snack. Filled with flavor and packed with nutrition, the soy nuts from Love Your Health are a great any time snack. With 3 flavors to choose from, including Sea Salt, Honey Roasted, and SoyMix (which is a blend of Chocolate Covered, Sea Salt, and Honey Roasted Soy Nuts, as well as Pumpkin Seeds and Cranberries), Love Your Health Soy Nuts are great in salads, on top of stir-fries, or even straight out of the bag.
NUTRITION-WISE: Love Your Health Soy Nuts are dry roasted on an open flame, in order to give them a rich, nutty flavor that rivals your traditional nuts. Coming in at around 130 calories per ¼ cup, 50 of which are from healthy fats, you will also find around 3 grams of fiber, 12 grams of protein, and 0 grams of sugar in the Sea Salt variety. And while there is some sugar in the Honey Roasted and SoyMix flavors, ranging between 7 and 9 grams, this is negligible when it comes to other “honey roasted” and chocolate “trail mix” type snacks.
Gluten-free and non-GMO, the Sea Salt and Honey Roasted flavors are also dairy-free. You will, however, find dairy in the chocolate soy nuts that are mixed into the SoyMix, so please be aware of this if dairy is a concern for you or your little ones.
*Although Love Your Health Soy Nuts are a little softer than your typical roasted nut might be, they still do have a nice crunch to them, and are therefore best for toddlers who have at least one set of molars in. I would also advise against giving your super young ones a large serving of the Honey Roasted or SoyMix flavors because they do contain some sugar in them. However, this is me being overly cautious because 7 grams of sugar is really not a lot, especially when compared to all the other “healthy” kids snacks out there. As mentioned before, I try to limit my son’s intake of sugar as much as possible, although a little sweet here or there, especially in the form of soy nuts with a little honey on them, is by no means going to do him any harm.
WHERE TO BUY: Love Your Health Soy Nuts are available at CVS stores nationwide, and can also be bought at numerous other retailers, including Costco. Please visit their Store Locator to find the one nearest you.
FINAL THOUGHTS: I had never tried a roasted soy nut until I was introduced to the ones from Love Your Health – probably because no other companies dry roast them. With that said, I was blown away by how tasty they are, especially the Honey Roasted variety.
Filled with protein and coming in at a mere 120-130 calories per ¼ cup serving, Love Your Health Soy Nuts are definitely a great replacement for eating traditional nuts, whether that be on your salad, on top your ice cream, or straight out of the bag.
