Hummus is one of those condiments that I don’t think gets enough hype. Serve it alongside vegetables or chips, as a spread on sandwiches, or on top of your favorite entrée; there really isn’t too many dishes that can’t use hummus in one way or another.
However, not all hummus is the same, and for those who say they don’t like it, definitely haven’t tried Lilly’s Hummus. As good, if not better, than homemade, and a lot more convenient, you may just start planning your meals around your hummus, instead of the other way around.

NUTRITION-WISE: Not all hummus is created equal and many brands really aren’t that good for you (once you examine the label). However, Lilly’s goes above and beyond your typical hummus with Organic garbanzo beans being their main ingredient. With a short list of ingredients, including: Organic Garbanzo Beans, Olive Oil, Sesame Tahini, Lemon Juice, Sea-Salt, Garlic, and Citric Acid (in their Plain flavor), there’s no wondering about any mystery ingredients or if they are really good for you.
The rest of their flavors are very simple as well, only maintaining the addition of freshly and locally sourced produce and spices. All the varieties are also non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, preservative-free, trans-fat free, and made with organic beans (mainly garbanzo, although there is a black bean variety).

FINAL THOUGHTS: Generally served as a condiment, hummus truly is packed with nutrition and can even be enjoyed straight off a spoon (my son sure does!).
However, not all hummus is the same and many are not only filled with artificial fillers and preservatives, they taste like they are too. For this reason, I have been known to make my own, but unfortunately don’t usually have the time. Thankfully I have discovered Lilly’s and all their delicious flavors.
Great as a snack, as part of a dressing, or even mixed in with my favorite pasta, hummus has become more than a simple condiment but more of a go-to ingredient in many of my meals.
