Smashed potatoes are a firm favorite the world over; not only do they taste delicious, but they are perfect for a friendly gathering, a family meal, or a healthy snack during the day. Read on for 5 delicious and unique ways to make smashed potatoes that your friends and family will adore.

Broccoli and Cheddar

If you are looking for a posh smashed potato recipe for a party or a gathering, definitely consider broccoli and cheddar smashed potatoes. Unlike other recipes on the list, this one requires you to keep the potato shells and refill them with the smashed potato and tasty covering of veggies.

Heat the potatoes in a microwave or oven until you can poke them through easily with a knife, then scoop out the insides leaving the shell intact. Smash the potatoes and return them to the shells. Now it’s time to decorate the top with broccoli florets, cheddar cheese, and seasonings.

Mushroom and Spinach

Mushroom and wilted spinach are another delicious seasonal recipe for various occasions. Whether you are having a dinner party with friends, a BBQ over the summer, or a game day, this healthy smashed potato favorite is destined to go down a storm. But it takes some preparation.

Start by choosing your mushrooms. Do you want shiitake, baby bella, or cremini for your event? Chop the mushrooms and place them in a skillet costing them with a little water. Add the spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted. Prepare the potato as before and add the topping.

Red Skinned Potatoes

These instant pot red skin mashed potatoes are different and delicious; they make a change from regular potatoes are offer the ideal accompaniment to a range of dishes. To make red-skinned potatoes, all you will need butter, garlic, red-skinned potatoes, and sea salt.

Start your prep by melting butter in an instant pot, then add the potato slices and garlic when the butter stops foaming. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and milk, then pressure-cook them for 7 minutes. Finally, smash the potatoes with a masher and serve them up in a bowl or in the side.

Gravy and Parsley

Whether you like your smashed potatoes in their shells or as a side dish, you are sure to love a gravy and parsley dressing that takes your meal to the next level. Garvey and parsley might not seem like the most complimentary pairing on the face of it, but it makes a lovely comfort meal.

Making this gravy topping is super straightforward; it is also vegan if you are a plant-based foodie. Combine vegetable broth and soy sauce in a bowl, then add your choice of mushrooms and simmer. Thicken with cornstarch. When ready, simply sprinkle the parsley on top and serve.

Pizza Smash Potatoes

Everyone knows what you mean when you say pizza, but not all pizzas are alike; they come in different forms. If you want a healthy low-fat pizza base, then use a baked potato base. Simply spread some marinara sauce, then add your favorite veggie toppings covered over with cheese.
