Better Air Quality for Your Yoga Space at Home

Yoga has taken the world by storm thanks to the numerous benefits it provides. It is a practice of mindfulness and meditation that promotes core strength building and improving both your mental and physical health. It also enhances your flexibility and balance. Many people are familiar with the perks of starting each day with a yoga session. However, in order to stay motivated and committed to your morning yoga routine, we must be surrounded by a healthy environment. That’s why, to help support your progress and health, I’ve put together some practical tips to help you improve the air quality in your yoga space at home.

Buy Eco-Friendly Equipment

You can now buy eco-friendly yoga equipment that is antibacterial and organic. This is not only better for your health but better for your home and the environment, as well. With intense yoga sessions, you’re likely to break a sweat; this will make it difficult for you to have a firm grip on blocks, chairs, and other yoga tools without slipping. By choosing cork material for your mat and other equipment, it’ll be much easier for you to progress and build your abilities.

Check the Air Filters

Yoga is all about cleansing your body and soul, but for that to happen, your surroundings need to be safe and healthy. Keep the air clean in your home by checking all the filters in your AC or HVAC unit and kitchen vents. In addition, regular servicing and maintenance by a professional air conditioning repair and service company like Air Dreamy will ensure that your unit is kept in top condition and your home air is fresh and clean. If you want to take yoga at home, it’s a good idea to invest in an air purifier. Studies have shown that people who practice yoga breathe deeply during exercises which can expose them to many pollutants. In this case, an air purifier is a great investment and will make your space smell better while filtering the air around you.

Furthermore, the best way to improve your indoor air quality is by using a purifier to keep the air fresh and clean. Many yoga enthusiasts have found their sessions to be more revitalizing when their environment feels fresh and clean. You can achieve this by investing in an air purifier or filter. It’s important to understand the difference between an air purifier and a filter to ensure the air quality in your home is clean and healthy.

Keep it Clean

It goes without saying that regular and thorough cleaning of your yoga space is necessary so that you aren’t placing clean equipment where it will only accumulate dust, allergens, and bacteria. Regular cleaning and wiping with mould & mildew remover will ensure your health and keep your yoga space spick and span. Aside from keeping your floors clean, make sure you keep all your equipment clean and store it all away when not in use. Yoga mats, specifically, will need frequent washing to remove dirt, oils, and odors. So, be sure to research the appropriate way to clean the fabric.

Change AC Filter

Depending on the kind of yoga you practice, the pace will vary. Fast-paced yoga can make the room quite stuffy, in which case, you’ll definitely want to crank your AC up. Over time, the air conditioner filters begin to fill up due to dust accumulation. If you neglect the filters, the air pollutants they have accumulated will affect the indoor air quality. Changing your system’s filter regularly will also help you avoid hefty repairs down the road, and improve the circulation in your yoga space at home. You can also look into a service plan which will include AC filter changes.

Get a Humidifier

As mentioned above, a stuffy room will definitely affect your air quality as well as make it difficult to perform your yoga workout. Control humidity and moist conditions by purchasing a humidifier as this will also prevent the growth of mold and mildew which can cause asthma and allergies, among other respiratory issues. Having a humidifier will create a much more comfortable yoga space. Stuffy rooms tend to exhaust people which is going to put a damper on your exercise regime as well as the air quality.

Add Greenery

Having indoor plants offers many health benefits; most notably, improving air quality. Adding a touch of nature to your yoga space will provide you with a natural air filter. Many plants help absorb contaminants from the air which will make the room healthier. Greenery also enhances the room’s aesthetic and puts you in a better mood, so you’ll be motivated to start your practice.

Yoga leaves you feeling refreshed and energized with a clear mind and a sense of inner peace, ready to face the day. With regular practice, you will actually begin to feel your mind and body growing healthier and stronger. To improve your well-being and maintain your health, follow the above tips to keep your at-home yoga studio clean so as not to derail all your efforts with an unsanitary environment. After all, the right atmosphere can make a world of difference.
