January 10th Newsletter
Is it really the second week of 2020 already?! Hopefully, you feel settled in now after the Holidays and all the madness, and this official first week back to reality has treated you well – as have those Resolutions!
Speaking of, how are they coming along? Still sticking with your low-carb, no-sugar, exercise 5+ days week, drink 1-gallon of water per day, sleep 8-hours a night, meditate 30-minutes a day resolutions? Haha, just kidding. If you know my philosophies, you know I’m not a fan of the word “resolutions”. Not to say any of these things are bad. In fact, I like each of them on their own, but to throw them all out there at once?! It’s pretty unrealistic if we’re being honest, and I’d have to guess that 99.99% of people will not stick with all of them – and most people won’t even stick with 1 come February 1st, due to the overwhelming nature of how they were presented.
On the flip-side, I believe resolutions should rather be considered “lifestyle changes” with the notion that you are making small steps to better your overall health and wellbeing. I also believe they should be small, concrete goals, so progress can be seen – and celebrated – along the way. If you are just starting to run, for example, you wouldn’t go try to do a marathon week one. Instead, it would make a lot more sense to make a goal of running 1-mile 3x/week, then increase it to 2-miles each time you go out, then 3, etc… This way, you’ll be able to feel your progress and feel accomplished.
If we don’t feel like we can complete a task or improve in the area that we are working on, we won’t continue – period. Everyone wants to feel like what they are doing matters and is making a difference and positive change no matter what area of life, work, etc. – so give yourself that chance! You may just be surprised by how much you can exceed your expectations.

I have been a Holistic Nutritionist for nearly 10-years now, and have been into health, nutrition and fitness much, much longer than that! In fact, I had several articles and videos come out about my background lately, in case you want to learn more.
Here is my article in Voyage Dallas, and check out my Instagram for links to the other videos from EverJoyn (a new Holistic Wellness Company I am officially the face of – and will share more about soon!), and finally my interview with the founders of Nature Remedies.
