We are still living in uncertain times and while the world is beginning to go back to a semi sense of normalcy, it is still, more than ever, important to take care of yourself. It can be normal to experience anxiety around this and that is why you need to think of how you can help yourself not feel so anxious. No matter if you are going about your daily business as normal, having to travel for work, or thinking of booking a staycation, you are going to want to be careful about what you do and if it will make you feel worried or nervous. If that is the case, here are some top tips to prevent anxiety around Covid…

1) Ensure You Stay Healthy

Staying healthy is one of the most important things that you can do in the current times. There are methods such as UVGI systems that can help ease your mind when in a building. These are devices that make it difficult for viruses to travel through the air and are proven to kill or inactivate the Covid virus (you can learn more here.) Also, ensure that you are stringent on your hand washing and try to keep space from others as much as possible.

2) Keep a Journal

If you find that you are getting anxious, then a journal can be very helpful. Journals allow you to write down all your thoughts that you are having, helping you to get rid of any negative ones. You can then look back through your entries and see if there is anything in particular that is triggering your anxiety. You can then better deal with this. There are many journals you can choose between, whether you decide on a plain notebook or one with prompts – just find the one that is best for you!

3) Do Wellness Exercises Such as Yoga or Pilates

Exercises such as yoga or Pilates are great for improving your mental wellbeing. Try to do them at least once a day for just half an hour and you will find that your mental health really improves. By exercising it boosts the endorphins in your body which helps to elevate your mood and make you feel calmer and happier. Yoga and Pilates are designed to help with your mental health and are not too strenuous and don’t take too long to do.

4)Try and Stay Off of Social Media

If you find that you are getting anxious about Covid, then it can be a good idea to stay off of social media and only read reputable news sources. Social media can be a breeding ground for fake news or scaremongering and if you are anxious about something, this can tend to add fuel to the fire! Try to avoid it and you will find that you are feeling much better about the situation.

These are just a few ways that you can prevent anxiety around Covid. Remember that there is always someone you can talk to, so make sure you seek them out if you are feeling anxious. What are some top things that you do to ease anxiety?
