Taste of Nature – Organic Bars that are So Close to Nature You Can Literally See It

FOR TODDLERS 2+*, MOMS & MOMS-TO-BE

The majority of nutritional bars and other snack bars are so overly processed that you would never be able to guess the nutrients based on just looking at them. In fact, there are usually so many additives, artificial flavors and other fillers that you can’t even tell by tasting them what they’re really made of.

Well thanks to Taste of Nature and their 100% Certified Organic snack bars, you cannot only taste, but literally see the difference in the freshness of their products and ingredients.

THE PRODUCT:
With all of their products made in Ontario, Canada, Taste of Nature has created a line of snack bars that are 100% Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Certified and Gluten-Free. Made with the very best ingredients the world has to offer, these bars are cold-pressed and minimally processed in order to retain as much of the nutrients as possible.

Taste of Nature’s team literally travels the world to find the best sources for specific ingredients, and then work directly with farmers to pick and choose the finest of their crops. Instead of just buying bulk ingredients from wholesalers to save themselves a ton of time (and money), they search for the best in order to give the best to their customers.

With 13 different bars to choose from, including such flavors as California Almond Valley and Mediterranean Pistachio Passion, you are sure to find a bar that not only pleases you, but every member of your family.

NUTRITION-WISE: While the majority of snack bars are high in simple carbohydrates and lack nutritional benefits, a lot of them are also loaded with sugar, salt, and fat, making them far from the best nutritional choice. However, Taste of Nature’s bars are high in fiber and healthy carbohydrates, without the stuff you don’t want, like additives, artificial flavors and fillers.

Taste of Nature fruit and nut bars also offer a low GI, are low in sugar, and are gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan so that people with other dietary restrictions can enjoy them as well. Plus, the fact that they are made up of whole nuts and seeds as opposed to the broken bits and “waste” that growers need to get rid of, makes them more slowly digestible – causing you to feel full longer, and eat less overall.

Furthermore, all of their bars are also free of: artificial sweeteners, animal products, dairy, preservatives, quasi-natural sweeteners, simple sugars, Sulphur Dioxide, cholesterol, wheat, gluten, and are low sodium.

WHERE TO BUY: Taste of Nature products are available throughout the U.S. and Canada. (Please check out their Store Locator for the complete list.) Or, to purchase directly online, click here.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
With so many different fruit and nut bars on the market these days, its not too often I’ll find one that really stands out from the rest. I mean, they all kind of look the same (once out of the package), and they all taste pretty similar as well.

However, I will say that I was very pleasantly surprised when I first came across Taste of Nature and their line of snack bars. First off, you can actually see the nuts and seeds throughout the bars, so you know they aren’t overly processed. Plus, you can actually taste them too – unlike many of the other bars where the flavors all kind of blend together. All of their products are also gluten and dairy-free, which is how I prefer my bars to be.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, all of their ingredients are Certified Organic, meaning they are free of GMO’s, pesticides, sulphur dioxide, etc.

And on top of it all, they taste great! With so many different flavor combinations to choose from, most of which are unlike any other bars you’ve probably ever seen, Taste of Nature is sure to impress no matter who is looking for a snack.

*Since these bars are filled with whole nuts and seeds, it’s best if your child has a pretty full set of teeth. Kaston is only 17 months, and can eat them just fine, but the 2+ distinction is really just to steer you on the side of caution. Plus, the bars do have more sugar than I would typically like my toddler to have (or even more than I myself tend to eat – at around 12 grams a serving) so I’ll just break him off a couple pieces here and there, as opposed to letting him eat the whole thing at once.
