Square Bars – Healthy Chocolate Bars at Their Finest

Posted by Jessica Boscarini on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 Under: Food Reviews

If only healthy eating were more enjoyable… With sweets and snacks, and all of those “sinful” treats, eating loads of junk is so much easier, and often much tastier, than eating the healthy stuff. At least that’s the way the majority of American’s think.

And now add to that the fact that you are pregnant, or are constantly chasing a little one around, and all those “convenient” snacks become all the more appealing, if not down right irresistible!

But just because you want to eat healthy doesn’t mean you can’t indulge! Just try Square Bars, with their 3 ridiculously tasty chocolate-based protein bars, and you will be a believer too!

Square Bars are not your average chocolate bar – these bars can actually be considered healthy (at least compared to every other chocolate bar on the market)! 100% Organic, and free of any added flavors or preservatives, Square Bars have truly elevated the way that a chocolate bar should not only taste, but be made.

With three great flavors to choose from, including: Cocoa Almond, Cocoa Coconut, and Cocoa Crunch, even a few bites of these bars will leave you surprisingly satisfied, and astonishingly full of [healthy] energy.

USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Verified, and Certified Gluten-Free, Square Bars are also free of dairy and soy, and are considered Vegan. Sweetened with coconut nectar, powered by brown rice protein, and coated in real dark chocolate, you won’t find any added flavors or preservatives here.

With each bar containing approximately 190 calories, and 9 grams of fat, these bars are surprisingly low in sugar (compared to the majority of nutritional bars, not to mention candy bars!), and also contain a good amount of protein to boot. They even contain fiber, which is always a nice bonus.

The first time that I really got “into” chocolate was when I was pregnant with my [now 18 month old] son. Before that, I was “scared off” by the fact that most chocolate bars contain dairy and loads of sugar, neither of which I chose to eat. However, I began to do my research and realized that not all chocolate is unhealthy, nor are all chocolate based bars.

One of the first bars that helped me change my way of thinking – Square Bars.

Not only are Square Bars USDA Certified Organic (which I love), but there are no artificial ingredients or preservatives added, enabling them to not only taste amazing, but also be good for you! Filled with protein (at around 11-12 grams per bar), and a bit of fiber (2 grams per serving), these bars have a nutritional makeup that far exceeds the majority of chocolate bars. Plus, they only have around 12 grams of sugar, which for a sweet snack or even for dessert, is not really that much!

Great for chocolate craving moms-to-be, as well as moms who are constantly on the go, Square Bars are definitely on my list of go-to’s and are sure to be on yours too!
