PB Crave Review: Mixing Peanut Butter into an Indulgent Treat

Posted by Jessica Boscarini on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Under: Food Reviews

FOR MOMS, MOMS-TO-BE & KIDS 5 YEARS+*

Most people agree that peanut butter is good by itself – but have you put it on a banana or mixed it with chocolate? It takes it to a whole other level! What if you could buy it like this [premade]?!?!

With PB Crave, you can!!! Keep reading to learn more…

THE PRODUCTS:
PB Crave offers four delicious, natural peanut butter blends — each mixing many of your favorite flavors with premium peanut butter — for a new twist on an old classic.

Whether you prefer Razzle Dazzle (with a blend of raspberries, honey, white and dark chocolate), Cookie Nookie (which tastes like chocolate chip cookie dough), Coco Bananas (remember when I mentioned peanut butter and bananas – now add chocolate!), or Choco Choco (with a double dose of dark chocolate, peanut butter and organic honey), you are sure to find a flavor that you crave – hence the name PB Crave!

NUTRITION FACTS:
Made without the use of artificial flavors, added sugar, hydrogenated oils, or high-fructose corn syrup, all of PB Crave’s products are also gluten & cholesterol free, as well as high in protein, made with all natural ingredients and UD Kosher Certified.

Coming in at around 180 calories per serving, 14grams of which are from healthy fats, you will also find around 7 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber and 5 grams of sugar, depending on the flavor.

*If you compare PB Crave to your traditional dessert or treat, the 5 grams of sugar really isn’t a big deal – especially since the majority of it comes from Organic honey (and then the rest from the chocolate chips). However, it’s not something I’d be giving my young toddlers, since I don’t think they need unnecessary sugar. Plus, why would they ever want to eat normal peanut butter after trying one that tastes like Cookie Dough?!?! Moreover, PB Crave does contain both dairy and soy, so for those who are avoiding either of these, you’ll want to stay away from these products as well.

THE COMPANY:
The Riess family has always loved food, and so many of their family traditions revolved around food. So, when they decided to make a different kind of peanut butter, it was no surprise. However, their idea was more than that. Yes, they wanted to make a peanut butter that is delicious, but they wanted to take it one step further by having it give back to local and global communities. And that is exactly what PB Crave does.

Sourcing only the best ingredients, including all natural US grown peanuts, imported Brazilian organic honey, imported Belgian chocolate chips, as well as other premium ingredients for all of their flavors, a minimum of 2% profits from every jar of PB Crave peanut butter is given to Project Peanut Butter. (Check out their website for more about Project Peanut Butter.)

WHERE TO BUY: You can purchase PB Crave directly from their Online Store, at Vitacost.com (where you can receive $5 off your first order), or to find the retail location nearest you, please visit their Store Locator.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
With so many nut butters to choose from these days, peanut butter is still the top choice for most consumers, although I’ll admit, it can get boring. And while mixing it with other yummy flavors like chocolate or raspberries is great, sometimes you just want to eat it straight out of the jar without any additional hassles.

Now step in PB Crave. With four delicious peanut butter flavors to choose from, you won’t have to worry about getting bored of their flavors, or dealing with any extra prep work – just grab a spoon and you’re good to go!

Don’t take me wrong, these peanut butters aren’t exactly the healthiest things I’ve seen around, nor are they something I’d want to give my young children. However, if you consider them a treat they really are a great alternative! I mean, PB Crave is made with all natural ingredients and are free of artificial flavors, added sugar, etc. (as mentioned above).

Now truth be told, because I don’t eat dairy, I can’t eat PB Crave at all (since they all contain dairy). However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t take a couple bites every now and again [trying to avoid the chocolate pieces (which contain the milk) as much as possible], and they are hella good!

Try swiping some on your toast for a delicious afternoon snack, or even taking a couple bites before winding down for the evening – trust me, you won’t be disappointed! In fact, my husband can’t get enough of this stuff and begs me to hide it in the back of the fridge so it’s not in his constant range of vision.
