For MOMS, MOMS-TO-BE & TODDLERS 1 YEAR+*
Although now more mainstream than ever before, many people still view granola as that “crunchy” food that only the uber health-conscious eat – those who don’t care about taste but ONLY eat food for it’s health benefits.
On the flip side, many people “trying” to be healthy also eat granola and think they are really doing something great for themselves. As if eating granola for breakfast will make up for the junk-food binging that goes on the rest of the day…
Well I hate to break it to both these parties but granola [generally] doesn’t fit into either of these categories as it is usually filled with many artificial and or GMO-laced ingredients and/or contains more sugar than should be eaten at any 1-serving.
Thankfully, there are companies like Beaujolais Granola that have turned these stereotypes upside down and come up with a healthy and delicious line of granolas that even the non “crunchy” granola lover will enjoy!
THE PRODUCT: Made in the heart of the California wine country, Beaujolais Granola was born in a small coastal town café where their original flavor of Cashew & Coconut made its debut. As new flavor combinations were developed, and fans conveyed that this honeyed granola was the real deal, the brand quickly expanded.
Inspired by consumers desire for variety and quality, Beaujolais Granola’s purpose is to connect with others by promising to deliver exceptional handcrafted products all while pledging transparency in their ingredients and process. It’s their goal to help you to take care of yourselves so that you may in turn take care of others – “eat well to live well!”
Available in 5 hearty and satisfying flavors, including Cherry Cacao Granola, Wildflower Honey & Hazelnut Granola, Cashew & Coconut Granola, Apricot & Almond Granola, and Six Seed Sensation Granola, Beaujolais Granola is crafted by hand with you and your health in mind.
NUTRITION-WISE: Using only the finest quality natural ingredients – including warmed organic wildflower honey, whole grains, seeds, nuts, and luscious fruits – Beaujolais Granolas are low sodium, high in protein and fiber, and dairy free. They are also Non-GMO Project Verified, Earth Kosher Certified and worthy of the Whole Grain Council Stamp (meaning that their granolas contain 28g per serving of whole grain ingredients, an essential part of a healthy diet).
*Beaujolais Granolas are quite crunchy and aren’t great for really little ones who can’t chew. However, if you let them soak in milk (I use homemade Almond Milk), then they will definitely soften and be much easier for young ones to consume. Filled with a good amount of healthy fats, protein and fiber, they really are a good choice for kids and adults of all ages. Do beware though that they contain wheat germ – which contains gluten – so those who have a sensitivity should steer clear.
WHERE TO BUY: To purchase Beaujolais Granolas, please visit their Store Locator for the location that sells them nearest you.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Although I’ve got to say that I probably grew up in a house that was healthier than many (I literally NEVER ate McDonalds), my mom still fed us KFC and Hot Pockets [although not all the time] and considered Frosted Mini Wheats a “healthy” cereal. Needless to say, we weren’t your typical “granola” family. To me, granola was just that – dry and toasted oats – nothing more, nothing less. And it stayed that way for many, many years.
Even after studying Nutrition and getting my degree, I still didn’t view granola as either tasty or healthy [due to all of the sugar, etc. as stated above]. But with companies like Beaujolais Granola, they are helping to change my perspective, as well as many others all around the US on both the health and tastes of these foods.
So if you are not gluten-intolerant and want some great tasting and healthy granola then you should definitely try any or all of Beaujolais Granolas and find out for yourself how delicious granola can actually be!
