the Cream Review: Colostrum in Face Cream?! YES!!

FOR MOMS and MOMS-TO-BE*

Colostrum is good for everything else, so why not face cream?!

Keep reading to find out more…

THE COMPANY:
TheCream was developed in 2012 by Denie Hiestand, a natural health consultant, author, research expert, and former successful New Zealand dairy farmer. Denie has spent decades studying the skin and toxins/chemicals in everyday cosmetics and personal care products and identified a strong link between the high usage of chemical personal care products and the growing rates of cancers, infertility, hormone imbalances, allergies and various other modern day illnesses.

In response to his patient’s requests, Denie set about to create a completely pure and natural range of skincare products which was not only free from any of the harmful additives found in the majority of commercial products, but equally importantly, contained life-giving, cell nourishing ingredients which feed and nurture the skin.

And the Cream was born.

THE PRODUCTS:
With products including a Facial Serum, Body Elixer, Facial Cleanse, a Repair and Creams for your Hands, Lips, Eyes, Body, Personal areas and even one made just for Men, all of the the Cream’s products are 100% natural and contain up to 85% of Colostrum (from cows).

[See more about Colostrum in our HEALTH-WISE section, below.]

All formulations are also:

  • Waterless, which means they are in their most effective and concentrated form.
  • Are clinically tested and EU cosmetic safety approved.
  • 100% Natural, up to 85% Colostrum, 0% Bull.
  • Include full, accurate, and transparent ingredient listings on their website and on product packaging. https://www.thecream.com/products-cat.html?cPath=1031
  • Completely free from preservatives.
  • Packaged in new airless vacuum packaging, which had to be developed for the Cream’s technologically advanced, bio-available skin cream.
  • Vacuum-sealed to eliminate any contact with air. Contact with air would kill the nourishing actives and lead to bacteria growth. [Modern day formulations use preservatives to stop products from expiring. At the Cream, they’d rather invest in packaging advancements (than chemicals) to keep their formulas intact.

Moreover, the products do NOT need refrigeration and are considered shelf-stable for up to 30 months.

HEALTH-WISE:
As mentioned, the Cream’s products all contain Colostrum, which is typically known to be the “first milk” newborns are given from their Momma’s. But Colostrum?! In a cream?!

YES!!

I know, I was a bit thrown off at first too, but after doing my research and looking into it further, why not?!

Colostrum is the first milk produced by every mammal on earth in the first 72 hours after birth of its young. It is the most powerful, life-giving substance known, and it is the only substance that contains every single component required for life to burst into existence. A newborn from any mammal requires an explosion of protein, minerals, vitamins, amino acids to thrive. Colostrum is the only thing designed to do just that.

In essence, Colostrum is:

  • The most powerful and complete all natural ingredient known.
  • It is nutrient dense, mineral rich, protein rich and vitamin rich.
  • Produced by female mammals for approximately 72 hours after birthing.
  • It is not milk (and therefore fine for those with dairy allergies), but rather the starter of all life, and completely recognized, accepted and utilized by our cells.

But Colostrum from cows?? Again, yes! The Colostrum in the Cream is from natural, grass-fed cows from New Zealand and is 200X more powerful than humans’.

New Zealand is known for its clean, green country and world renowned for its dairy science and expertise. It also developed the first low temperature Colostrum drying process and hence, produces the world’s best Colostrum. Furthermore, Colostrum is collected under the most stringent ethical processes and only the oversupply of Colostrum is collected from the mama cow for human use.

Moreover, all theCream® formulations are 100% Natural. That means ‘real’ natural, and hand batched to order in Montana. They are also free from:

  • Chemicals
  • Heavy Metals
  • Mineral Oil
  • Petrochemicals
  • Alcohol
  • Parabens
  • Preservatives
  • Fillers
  • Added Water

*For those worried about how the Cream will affect you if you have a dairy intolerance: an allergy to dairy is a digestion issue. Using colostrum cream on the skin has not been an issue for any of their dairy intolerant users (nor has it been an issue for me – and I am VERY sensitive to dairy). Also, colostrum is not milk and interfaces in and on the body very differently.

Furthermore, all the products are safe for both pregnant and breastfeeding Mommas. However, if you have any questions or concerns, please consult your physician.

WHERE TO BUY:
The Cream products are available on their Online Store, or to find the retail location nearest you please visit their Store Locator.

PRICE:
Prices range from $29-$69, depending on the product you choose. (And for good quality skincare, you’ll find that it is totally worth it!)

FINAL THOUGHTS:
As I mentioned, when I first realized that the Cream I was about to be using contained cow’s colostrum, I was a bit thrown off. For one, I am dairy intolerant and didn’t want to break out in some nasty rash. I was also nervous about the smell of the products, not to mention the “ethical” side of it all and just the plain fact of putting Colostrum on my face.

Thankfully, the Cream’s website is very informative and helped to calm all of my angst – and I’m so glad to say it did, because I LOVE their products!

First off, my skin has not only tolerated the products, but feels silkier and smoother than ever before (even though I have been using “natural” skin care products for quite some time now). It also smells great. There is a very faint “sweet” smell, but just like there is with most skin care and could essentially be called “scentless”. [It definitely doesn’t scream “from cows”.]

In regards to the ethical nature of using colostrum: Under New Zealand collection protocol, the newborn calf stays with it’s Mama for 24 hours and only after that is the surplus Colostrum collected for human consumption. Moreover, the Colostrum used is collected from healthy happy cows.  Colostrum is produced by all mammals at birth as a life giving gift of nature.  No animals are harmed or mistreated in the collection of this nutrient, and is therefore OK for both vegetarians and vegans to use. [However this is a very personal choice and may vary from one to the next.]

Again, having initially been so hesitant about this product, I can honestly say that I am now a true believer and am sure I will be a user for a long time to come!

Try any or all of the Cream’s products today and see how beneficial Colostrum can be for you!
