Seapoint Farms Review: Edamame and Seaweed Inspired Snacks

SNACKS: for Moms, Moms-To-Be & Toddlers 2 Years+*

Edamame isn’t just an appetizer at Sushi restaurants – anymore…

Seapoint Farms has made it their mission to make edamame a household name – and with their line of great tasting products, has done just that! Non-GMO, heart-healthy and filled with plant-based protein, all of Seapoint Farms products are also gluten-free and dairy-free and great for kids and adults alike.

With products ranging from Dry Roasted Edamame in Sea Salt or Wasabi flavors, to their delicious Fruit and Nut Blends that include such ingredients as Coconut, Pomegranate or Orange-infused Cranberries, eating edamame has never been easier – or tastier!

Seapoint Farms has also helped bring Seaweed snacks to the forefront with their new lines of Seaweed Crisps, Seaweed Pops and Seaweed Fava Chips… all healthy, delicious and made with our Ocean’s favorite Superfood.

First, a little background: What is Edamame?
Edamame is a specialty soybean harvested as a green vegetable when the seeds are immature and have expanded to fill 80-90% of the pod width. Like field-dried soybeans, the seeds of Edamame varieties are rich in protein and highly nutritious.

Naturally gluten-free and low in calories, edamamae doesn’t contain any cholesterol and is an excellent source of iron, calcium and protein – one of the only complete plant-based proteins available! [The human body can manufacture all but nine of the 22 amino acids that make up proteins. These nine amino acids are known as “essential” amino acids, and therefore must be derived from what we eat. Edamame contains all the essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce.]

Now, in regards to the products by Seapoint Farms: As mentioned, all of their products are Non-GMO and verified by the Non-GMO Project. They are also Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. Furthermore, all of their snacks are low in sugar (those with dried fruit do have more sugar grams, as can be expected), low in sodium, and contain a decent amount of both fiber and protein.

*Seapoint Farms Edamame snacks are great for both kids and adults alike. However, the edamame itself is quite crunchy and may be too difficult for a toddler [without a full set of molars] to chew. For this reason, I suggest waiting until your little one is at least 2 years old. The new Seaweed Crisps, however, are not quite as hard and may be enjoyed by a younger toddler, around 18 months or so.

Starting in 1996, Seapoint Farms has become the largest importer and manufacturer of Edamame products in the United States, offering high quality, good tasting and convenient Edamame vegetable products and snacks. As an instrumental component to the public's early education and awareness of the health benefits of Edamame, the Seapoint Farms brand has gained national success and is now the leading brand of Edamame in Supermarkets throughout the U.S.
When the FDA concluded in 1999 that foods containing soy protein included in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol levels, Seapoint Farms became a vehicle for bringing soy's health benefits to consumers in great vegetable options.

Using only non-GMO soybeans, Seapoint Farms products retain their naturally-occurring levels of healthful Isoflavones and include the same soy protein proven to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol. Seapoint Farms' mission is to provide all natural, delicious and convenient Edamame food products that make it easy to incorporate the benefits of soy in your everyday diet.

WHERE TO BUY: You can purchase Seapoint Farms foods directly from their website, on (where you get $10 off your first $30 purchase), on, or to find the retail location nearest you, please visit their Store Locator.

Until a few years ago, I like most, had never seen an edamame bean anywhere besides a sushi restaurant. And while I did enjoy the taste, I never realized just how nutritious these little beans were – or how many different ways you could eat them!

Roasted and crunchy, crisp and slightly salty, Seapoint Farms has helped make the Edamame bean a household name by turning them into convenient and portable snacks to nibble on, to throw on salads, to mix in with rice as your main source of protein, etc. They’ve even started incorporating seaweed into several of their snacks, giving both kids and adults a “taste of sushi”, anytime.

Try any or all of Seapoint Farms snacks today and see for yourself how delicious [and nutritious] edamame-inspired foods can be!
