R.e.d.d. Bar Review: Superfood Energy Bars that are Way Beyond Ordinary

R.e.d.d. Bar Review: Superfood Energy Bars that are Way Beyond Ordinary

Being a Mom of 2 little ones, with #3 on the way, I’m all about healthy convenient foods – with the bar being the epitome of this. However, I often will make them myself because I believe nothing is healthier than bars free from preservatives, fillers or added sugars. As could be expected, I don’t always have the time for this and love when I can find bars that include everything I want, with nothing I don’t. And the bars by R.e.d.d. seem to do just that!

For Moms, Moms-to-be & Babies 3 Years+*

THE PRODUCTS:

R.e.d.d. has taken the idea of a healthy bar way beyond what you’re used to! Meshing a Protein Bar + Energy Shot + Multi-Vitamin into one delicious snack, not only are you getting 3 product in 1, you are eating something that will make you feel your best – from the inside, out!

Rich and delicious, yet without any added sugar, you will get pure, natural power from the first bite to the last. And holding true to their principles, R.e.d.d. doesn’t include any ingredients for reasons of cost, simplicity, or ease of production. Everything you’ll find is in these products because it’s the best at what it does. Period.

NUTRITION-FACTS:

R.e.d.d. is literally like eating 3 Products in 1: a Protein Bar, Energy Shot and Multi-Vitamin. With roughly 9-10g of Protein, 11 Superfoods and 19 Vitamins + Minerals, as well as 35+mg Natural Caffeine (which is approximately 1/3 Cup of Coffee), you can be sure you are doing something good for your body when you eat R.e.d.d.

Certified Gluten Free, 70% Organic and non-GMO Project Verified, all of their products are also Kosher, Vegan, Soy Free and Brown Rice Syrup Free (since Brown Rice is said to contain arsenic).

*Filled with good-for-you ingredients, R.e.d.d Bars are great for adults and children alike. However, they do contain quite a bit of sugar – albeit from natural sources – so I wouldn’t recommend giving a whole one to your young child. Plus, they contain some caffeine, which kids really don’t need either! A couple pieces here or there is totally fine though (in my opinion), and if you want to consider it their treat, then go for it! I’ll give both of my kids ¼ of a bar (the other ½ is for me J), and they couldn’t be happier!

THE COMPANY:

Here's how it happened, according to Founder, Alden:

“My college meal plan wasn’t cutting it. I burned through it in the first few weeks of the semester. After that, finding good alternatives was tough. I could’ve probably gotten by on chips but, to me, food is really important. It affects you, mentally and physically. Eat crap, feel like crap. Eventually, I found my way to a local health food store.

“I didn’t have much time or money so I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. I hit the bulk foods section and mixed a bunch of inexpensive, nutritionally dense ingredients into a big bag. The concoction — and trust me, it really was a concoction — not only sustained me, it gave me a serious and sustained energy boost.

“I started carrying my new energy “bar-ish” thing to classes. Much curiosity ensued which quickly became a budding, dorm room business. It beat selling pot. Anyway, that’s how the predecessor to Redd was born. I called it “Rawgasms” and it literally started out of my backpack (we had to change the name eventually…). At first, my goal was just to offer my fellow broke students a healthy, affordable alternative to whatever junk food they were eating to supplement the school meal plan. But then, you know…

“After two years of serious grassroots success and a ton of feedback, I hooked up with designer and health food enthusiast Reed Allen. Together, we re-branded, refined, re-designed, etc, etc… I doubled down on my initial commitment to the highest quality, all natural ingredients and, in June of 2014, we released our first product: Chocolate Brownie by Redd. The rest, as they say, is history.”

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The first time my husband tried one of the bars from R.e.d.d. he commented on how good they were and that they taste like the bars that I make. Which is exactly what I want in a bar! Healthy for you but yet super enjoyable to eat is what I strive for everyday and is why I often make most foods myself. However, I don’t always have time for this and will often want something that I can eat before having to rush out the door – and is why I love when I can find a good bar!

Made with all the ingredients I love, minus the ones I don’t, R.e.d.d. really is a high quality bar that will allow you to feel good about what you’re eating! Filled with protein, healthy fats and even natural energy, you won’t go wrong when you go R.e.d.d.! Don’t believe me?
