Heavenly Organics Review: Honey-filled Treats that are Oh-So Heavenly

Farmed from Wild-Bees, the honey and products from Heavenly Organics truly are like a little taste of Heaven…

For Moms, Moms-to-be and Toddlers 18 Months+*

You may be surprised to learn that the majority of honey that you buy these days is not from wild bees, nor is it harvested in a “friendly” manner. In fact, smoke is often used to harvest honey, and a lot of honey is actually heated, killing many of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes that make honey a “superfood” in the first place.

Fortunately, the honey used in all of Heavenly Organics’ products is different! Sustainably sourced from bees that live outside of boxes in naturally occurring wild beehives, the raw honey in these foods has all of the pollen, vitamins, minerals and enzymes still intact.

Found deep within the pristine forests of Northern and Central India and parts of the Himalayan Mountains, neither the hives nor the free-range bees have ever been exposed to pesticides, pollutants, genetically modified crops or antibiotics, making all of the honey they produce [naturally] 100% Organic.

Further, while honey is a known natural antibiotic due to its antibacterial, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, it is general practice for beekeepers to administer chemical antibiotics to beehive boxes regardless if the honey is raw or organic.  Sadly, these chemicals accumulate in the boxes and can be found in most organic raw honey. That said, Heavenly Organics is truly something special and is the cleanest sourced honey you can find.

Offering 100% Organic Raw Honey, Chocolate Honey Patties and 100% Organic Whole Cane Sugar, here are further explanations of the products Heavenly Organics has to offer:

  1. RAW HONEY: Their bees live outside of the box in naturally occurring, wild beehives. They use bee-friendly and smoke-free methods that protect wild bee colonies and eliminate the potential for forest fires. Their methods preserve the pollen, vitamins, minerals and enzymes found in raw honey.
  2. CHOCOLATE HONEY PATTIES: Chocolate Honey Patties have a dark chocolate shell made from 100% cocoa that is filled with 100% Organic Raw White Honey blended with natural flavor. These decadent, bite-sized treats not only taste amazing, but dark chocolate and raw honey both offer minerals and immunity-boosting antioxidants.  With just 2-4 ingredients and only 50-60 calories per pattie, you can indulge without the guilt!
  3. WHOLE CANE SUGAR: Their rare and exclusive 100% Organic Whole Cane Sugar is produced by a small cooperative of family farmers from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. This sugar is made without the use of commercial dryers, which preserves the natural nutrients and minerals and reduces their carbon footprint. The pure, golden brown crystals have a rich sugar cane flavor and are the perfect 1:1 substitute for everyday use and baking.

Founded in 2005, but actually beginning 25 years earlier, Heavenly Organics story began over, when Amit Hooda was a young boy growing up around conflict during the Punjab Insurgency. The experience of living near a conflict zone stayed with him.

Amit’s family home in the countryside of Northern India was steeped in vibrant culture, ancient traditions and vast wilderness and he learned to love living off of the land, gaining a great respect for all living things.  He often contemplated how he could help people living in isolated and conflict areas of the world and discussed these ideas with his father.

For over 35 years, Amit’s father, Dr. I.S. Hooda, had cultivated relationships with small farmers to help preserve traditional and sustainable organic farming methods while helping them earn a living from selling their delicious organic goods. He helped the people take advantage of the untouched forests of India where there were wild beehives that “contain the most pure and delicious honey varietals known to humankind”. In fact, Amit’s father was an integral influence in developing a sustainable, bee-friendly and smoke-free method of extracting the honey and worked with local honey harvesters to teach them this method.

Eventually, Amit moved to the United States but continued to talk to his father about helping the people in these conflicted areas, eventually deciding that the only way to eliminate conflict is to provide the people in these areas with ethical job opportunities. The duo saw the potential in combining this idea with Amit’s father’s organic agriculture projects, and the idea of Heavenly Organics was born.

Today, Heavenly Organics supports nearly 600 family farmers and produces 100% Organic Raw Honey, Chocolate Honey Patties and 100% Organic Whole Cane Sugar.

This work helps displaced people find markets to sell their goods and ensures them a reliable income.  Without it, their means of livelihood would be very limited.

Heavenly Organics was built on the belief that profits can create peace, and they continue to expand on Dr. I.S. Hooda’s early visions of respecting the earth, animals, humankind, and all who contribute to the circle of life.

As already mentioned, Heavenly Organics honey is harvested from naturally occurring, wild beehives found deep within the forests of India where the bees range free to pollinate foliage far from the reach of pesticides, pollutants and genetically modified crops. Their honey is also raw.

Why does RAW honey matter?

Bee pollen found in raw honey contains a wide array of essential vitamins and minerals necessary for life; vitamins like energizing B-6 and B-12, and immunity-boosting Vitamin C and minerals and trace elements like calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and iron. It also contains antibacterial, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties from Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Selenium. Moreover, unique to honey is pinocembrin, a major flavonoid, associated with improved brain function. Finally, the live enzymes aid digestion and help with the breakdown of foods.

In contrast, most honey on grocery store shelves has been heated and is ultra-filtered which results in a product no more valuable than a simple sweetener. Raw and lightly-filtered honey is known for its exceptionally high live-enzyme content, pollen count, vitamins, minerals and antibacterial, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Heavenly Organics' honey varietals are 100% Organic, Raw and lightly-filtered.

The different types of honey:

  1. Neem: has been used for medicinal remedies for centuries and is known for its antibacterial and digestive health properties
  2. Acacia: is known for soothing coughs, aiding digestion and healing minor cuts and burns
  3. White Honey: is known to be rich in nutrients such as vitamins and minerals and serves as a good energy source

*Yes, honey is considered a “sugar”, although as you’ve read, all sugars are different and thus, are digested differently in the body. With that said, however, honey is still a sugar and should be eaten in moderation. Furthermore, children under 1-year of age should NOT ever be given honey due to botulism – a potentially deadly bacteria for infants. For this reason, and the fact that I don’t believe young children need sweeteners anyway, I would wait to feed my child these foods until they are at least 18 months old.

WHERE TO BUY: You can purchase Heavenly Organics directly from their Online Store, or at major retailers & independent health stores nationwide. Check out their Store Locator to find the location nearest you.

Sugar is one of those things that I’ve really been trying to stay away from lately – whether it’s the “healthier” kind or not. However, if there is some kind of sweetener that I will indulge in every now and again, it’s going to be honey. But not just any kind, it has to be really good! And after discovering the honey from Heavenly Organics, I can say that this definitely fits the bill!

Not only are all 3 varieties super tasty, they are also incredibly good for you thanks to the fact that they are Organic, Raw, and filled with tons of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Furthermore, they contain live enzymes that aid digestion, and even help with burns and wounds.

Even their Chocolate Honey Patties are pretty darn tasty, with each single patty containing 5 grams of sugar; a lot less than other chocolaty treats. However, they are extremely sweet and may not be everybody’s thing, but if you are a chocolate and honey lover, they are definitely worth a shot!

Looking for a healthier sweetener that also provides health benefits, then you’ve got to check out honey from Heavenly Organics?! Because, it’s those small steps that make healthy eating a lifestyle, so why not take one today?!
