It all started in the small bakery of a natural foods market on Main Street in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Customers with Celiac Disease would visit the bakery and tell Michael (the eventual Founder of Bakery on Main) about the lack of good tasting gluten free options available to them. Upon learning this, Michael believed that nobody should have to suffer due to any kind of food allergy or dietary need, and went on a mission to create delicious and “fearlessly unique” gluten free products that were good for you and great tasting.

Bunches of Crunches: A fearlessly unique Chocolate Superfood “GRAIN-ola”, these scrumptious clusters of crunchy goodness are loaded with superfoods such as Chia seeds and Cacao, and then complimented by ancient grains such as Amaranth and Millet. Their lines of Bunches of Crunches, Granolas and Nut Crunch Snacks are also great for people of [almost] all ages and stages. However, these snacks are pretty crunchy and can be hard to chew – especially for little ones – so I wouldn’t recommend them for very young children. Furthermore, they do contain some sugar (although only 5-10 grams per serving – which isn’t a lot compared to many snacks), and therefore, I wouldn’t recommend giving them to children under 3 years of age, since I believe kids have their whole lives to eat sweets and don’t need them when they are that young – if it can be avoided.

There’s nothing new about gluten-free oats. But for those of us worried about our oats being contaminated with wheat containing substances, knowing that the brands we buy are made in a third party certified gluten-free facility is of real importance! This applies to buying snack products as well.
But I have to admit, even though this is a selling point, when it comes to the snacks by Bakery on Main – and their Bunches of Crunches and Nut Crunch ones in particular – this was not the first thing that drew me to them. With tons of great flavors to choose from, and an oh-too delicious taste and texture that is hard to replicate, these foods are down right addicting!
Slightly sweet and salty, with just the right amount of crunch, these snacks truly are a new favorite and ones that both my toddler and I just can’t seem to get enough of! Plus, they are filled with whole grains, healthy fats, fiber and protein, making them a “sweet treat” that really can be considered good for you – which is always a win-win in my book!
