3 Tips for Dressing a Newborn Baby

Young and Stylish

Is there anything cuter than a newborn? Babies are so adorable, and they bring so much joy to their parents’ lives. One of the best parts about having a baby is dressing them up in cute clothing. However, as this article will show, parents should take certain things into consideration when choosing an outfit for their little one. Here are three helpful tips for dressing a newborn baby that every parent should know.

Organic Is Best

Many parents don’t realize that organic clothing matters for their babies. Cotton baby clothes can harm a little one’s sensitive skin. Cotton farmers sometimes use pesticides and other chemicals when producing fabric. These chemicals can eventually make their way on to your youngster’s clothing and skin. Organic farmers, on the other hand, follow sound farming practices. Thus, parents can rest assured that their newborn’s skin will be protected. After all, everyone wants to keep an infant’s skin as soft as possible.

What About Snaps?

Another tip for dressing a newborn baby is to be mindful of snaps. Everyone’s seen cute onesies that snap together on the bottom. These garments are incredibly practical for parents dealing with a squirmy infant they need to change quickly. However, adults should keep safety in mind when dealing with snaps, as well. The snaps on an outfit shouldn’t be raised. For example, if a snap button is too high, it could rip off and become a choking hazard to the youngster.

Think Seasonally

Adults should also keep the season in mind when dressing their infant. It’s important to purchase breathable clothing that won’t stick to a baby’s skin during the summertime if they get sweaty. If parents decide to expose their little one’s arms and legs, it’s also important to pack sunscreen in the diaper bag. In the winter, on the other hand, swaddling is key. Parents should bundle their youngsters as tightly as possible, even though it’ll take longer to get them undressed. Just be mindful of overdressing them. Babies only need one more layer than adults do, and can quickly become overheated if layered too many times.
